The global theme for this year’s International Women’s Day (IWD) was ‘March Forward,’ acknowledging the 30-year anniversary of a UN resolution to advance gender equality across 12 key areas.
Clemenger Group acknowledged this important day with our agencies and teams by exploring each of these areas in the 12 days leading up to IWD – sharing important insights, stories from its people and examples of work across the Group to spark meaningful conversations about gender equality.
Some of the highlights from the series included sharing pro bono work done with CEOs for Gender Equity, conversations with dads across the Group and their hopes for their daughters, and two of our amazing female leaders at Clemenger Group speaking about their experiences working in the media industry. Clemenger Group also shone a spotlight on female participants in its graduate and internship programs, and explored some of the incredible small businesses run by entrepreneurial Clemenger Group women in New Zealand. The organisation also took the opportunity to integrate the UN theme of “Women in the Economy” within its communications to Australian team members about the gender pay gap.
The 12-day program also offered the chance to raise awareness of global issues that impact women such as human rights, violence against women and the disproportionate impact of armed conflict on women and girls. The Group’s bumper final edition on the eve of IWD saw five brilliant female leaders across the organisation share inspiring stories about their experience of leadership.
